New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryavah, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, on Saturday released a book on the 19th century’s renowned sage and Kerala’s social reformer Sree Narayana Guru at the RSS state headquarters, Keshav Kunj, in New Delhi.
Titled “Sree Narayana Guru and Sanatana Dharmam: New Discoveries,” the book, authored by Ganesh Radhakrishnan, was unveiled at a special function attended by Sah-Sarkaryavah Shri Arun Kumar and other dignitaries and scholars.
As the title of the book indicates, this work brings together articles of significant historical importance, many of which may be regarded as new discoveries relating to the life and times of Sree Narayana Guru. Certain essays present material that has hitherto remained unknown, drawing on exclusive content sourced directly from archival records that have only recently been made accessible.
The book examines themes such as social and religious reform through Sree Narayana Smriti, Gurudevan’s role in the socially transformative Vaikom Satyagraha, Guru’s fight against proselytization, his engagement with the Bhagavad Gita, the dietary disciplines he prescribed, and his psychological approach toward devotees.
